Su-kyung Jung is an artist who has spent most of her life immersed in art, continuously engaging with the world through her practice. After completing her studies at Sunhwa Arts High School and earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Hongik University, she has continued to live in close harmony with art.

About a decade ago, an encounter with the sounds and resonance of a bamboo forest became a turning point in her artistic journey. The wind through the trees and the language of flowers are not merely landscapes to her, but a medium that evokes time and memory and a voice that connects her to the essence of existence. Drawing from these experiences, Jung quietly yet powerfully translates the rhythms of nature, sound, and life onto her canvases, inviting viewers to encounter their own sensations and memories within her work.

Her work always begins with sound. The moment paint drops onto the canvas laid on the floor—the subtle sound and sensation—forms the basis of her dripping technique, where intention and chance meet to create a unique resonance.
