Youn Hye Sung lives and works in Paris.

In painting, shadows form a discrete component of the image, bringing realism and perspective to the subject. But in Youn Hye Sung’s painting, the subject is the shadow itself. And if light on the canvas exists through the presence of shadow, the latter leaves the idea of the object under the light by the subjectivity of its lines, without needing to be represented.
The work of Youn Hye Sung is delicate and warm, a sensitive and pictorial poetry. The artist disregards the object to keep only the form that it leaves under the light.
The colors carefully chosen by the artist, let emanate from the canvases a warm and enveloping atmosphere.
